Britten Three Divertimenti
Schuberty String Quarter (No.15) in G ,ajor, D 887 (Op.161)

We are delighted to conclude the season with one of the country’s finest string quartets. A past winner of prestigious Royal Philharmonic Society and BBC Music Magazine awards, the Dante Quartet, founded in 1995, is much admired for the intensity of its performances.  The quartet is ‘resident’ at King’s College, Cambridge and also runs its own Dante Summer Music Festival in the Tamar Valley in July each year. For its first appearance in the Mid-day concerts, the Dante Quartet contrasts one of Benjamin Britten’s early quartets with Schubert’s great quartet in G major.

The Manchester Mid-day Concerts Society reserves the right to change artists and programmes if necessary.  All information correct at time of going to print.
